A free agent with reported WWE interest has potentially teased an upcoming debut at NXT Heatwave this weekend.

Back in February, it was reported that independent standout Richard Holliday was among the names that was in attendance at the WWE tryouts, with reports later emerging that WWE had interest in bringing him into the company.

Last month, following his match with Bear Bronson at GCW’s Melee in Manchester event, Holliday would leave his boots in the ring as the fans chanted ‘thank you Rich’ at him, while the commentators made reference to ‘rumours’ surrounding his future.

Richard Holliday ‘To Address’ GCW Departure Moment This Weekend

A month on from the moment, and Holliday has now noted that he plans to ‘address’ the situation this weekend.

Taking to social media, he said:

I can finally speak about this, but I just need some time.

I will address over the weekend. Thank you.

While obviously the situation could be entirely unrelated, Holliday choosing now to comment on the situation, while also drumming up hype for the weekend, the same weekend as WWE NXT’s Heatwave event, had a lot of fans speculating that he could be teasing making his debut at Heatwave in Edinburg, Texas.

A New Influx Of WWE Stars On All Brands

Coming out of SummerSlam weekend, the WWE rosters have been undergoing a shakeup on all brands so far.

The Monday Night Raw roster has seen the return of Big Cass, with him competing in his first match in eight years last night on Raw, as well as the call ups of WWE NXT stars Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM, and the upcoming arrival of Lola Vice.

SmackDown has also seen it’s fair share of changes, with Tatum Paxley joining the blue brand’s roster, as well as the debuting Kyoki as Shinsuke Nakamura’s new tag team partner.

Meanwhile, NXT has seen the arrival of Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana, who are both set to be part of the NXT Heatwave main event this weekend for the NXT Championship, with the potential debut of more new faces from the Performance Center still waiting in the wings as the weeks go on.
