WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 will take place from Edinburg, Texas on Sunday, August 30.

With the August 25 episode of WWE NXT looming, there could be any number of changes to this Sunday’s card.

From last minute additions to new stipulations added, NXT could add some excitement to the festivities at Heatwave.

Here are six potential changes to WWE NXT Heatwave 2026.

6. Kali Armstrong earns her way into the ZARIA vs. Wren Sinclair NXT Women’s North American Championship vs. WWE Speed Women’s Championship Unification Match

On the August 18 episode of WWE NXT, Kali Armstrong and Kelani Jordan defeated Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey.

After pinning the WWE Speed Women’s Champion, Armstrong demanded a title shot.

However, NXT General Manager Robert Stone had already announced Sinclair would defend her title against NXT Women’s North American Champion ZARIA in a title unification match at Heatwave 2026.

Despite this bout being announced, Kali Armstrong has the chance to earn her way into this unification match by beating ZARIA on the August 25 WWE NXT.

5. Myles Borne vs. Jackson Drake for the NXT North American Championship becomes a Two-Out-Of-Three-Falls Match

Jackson Drake had a lot of pressure on him heading into the August 18 episode of WWE NXT.

On that evening, Drake defeated Shiloh Hill to earn a shot at Myles Borne for the NXT North American Championship.

Now, Drake is one win away from his first title on the NXT roster after a successful run as Evolve Men’s Champion prior to debuting on the brand.

Looking to prove himself the better competitor, Drake could challenge Borne to face him a two-out-of-three-falls match where his stamina and endurance might be enough to push Borne to his limits.

4. Rey Fenix issues an open challenge for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship

On the August 25 edition of WWE NXT, Rey Fenix will defend the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against EK Prosper.

This bout is a way for the company to promote NXT and AAA having a joint back-to-back show on August 39.

It should be interesting to see if Fenix is able to retain against Prosper and walk into AAA Ola de Calor where he will team with Penta and Dragon Lee against Perros Del Mal.

If he is able to retain, Fenix could hold an open challenge for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against anyone on the NXT roster on the Heatwave portion later in the evening.

3. Shiloh Hill vs. Naraku gets added to the card

Shiloh Hill has had a series of segments where he will analyze and dissect certain happenings on NXT.

In one recent vignette, Hill mentioned how Naraku started to spew mist and the origins of this method.

This led to Naraku spitting the mist into Hill’s eyes to cost him his match against Jackson Drake for a shot at the NXT North American Championship at Heatwave 2026.

After costing him this important bout, Hill will be looking to challenge Naraku to a grudge match that might become a standout on the WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 card.

2. Nattie vs. Jaida Parker in a Submission Match added to the card

Over the past few months, Nattie has been feuding with Jaida Parker in a highly intense rivalry.

The two women have made things personal with attacks stemming from the ring to Nattie’s Dungeon.

After trading wins over the past month, it might be time for a rubber match between Nattie and Jaida.

Ms. Parker stepping into Nattie’s domain might lead to a Submission Match on the WWE NXT Heatwave card that can finally put their rivalry to bed.

1. Keanu Carver added to the Tony D’Angelo vs. Grayson Waller vs. Cruz Montana vs. Zilla Fatu NXT Championship match

Since arriving on WWE NXT, Keanu Carver has been on a roll, running roughshod over anyone and everyone in front of him.

Becoming the new intimidating monster on the brand, Carver has been on the hunt for the NXT Championship.

While Grayson Waller, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu arriving on NXT to get a title shot, Carver has to wait in line.

Not looking to wait for his too much longer, Keanu Carver might have to force his way into the NXT Championship match at Heatwave 2026 to make it a five-way match.
