WWE’s Cody Rhodes has reacted to an All Elite Wrestling star’s upcoming departure from the company on January 1.
Earlier today, AEW star Shawn Spears took to Twitter to announce his upcoming departure from the company, with him set to become a free agent on January 1.
Spears debuted for AEW in the Casino Battle Royal at the inaugural Double or Nothing event, before eventually going on to feud with Cody Rhodes, setting up a match between the two at the AEW All Out pay-per-view in 2019.
Spears and Rhodes share a lot of history together, and Cody took to Twitter to praise Spears following his departure announcement.
He simply wrote:
Love The Chairman, a great man @ShawnSpears
Another close associate of Cody’s, QT Marshall, is set to depart AEW and become a free agent in January, with him already having effectively finished up with the company.
Love The Chairman, a great man@ShawnSpears
