The return date of the WWE NXT Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic has now been confirmed.
On Tuesday’s edition of NXT New Year’s Evil, Ava announced that the 2024 iteration of the tournament will begin next week on the January 9 episode.
Ava revealed the reason that she’s become the NXT authority figure, thanks to a ‘Wise Man’ saying that Shawn Michaels may need help.
She would then reveal that she presents some of her own ideas and that one idea that has landed is the 2024 tournament.
You can watch the announcement below.
Some teams have already thrown their names into the hat for the tournament, one of which can be seen below.
Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin discussed their partnership, although there was some confusion over who would be leading the team.
Other teams who have an interest in the tournament include Nathan Frazer & Axiom, Edris Enofe & Malik Blade and Andre Chase & Duke Hudson.
Last held in 2022, the tournament had been a regular fixture on the NXT calendar from its launch in 2015.
In 2021, the Women’s Tag Team Tournament was added alongside the Men’s Tag Team Tournament.
