For many years WWE was the be all and end all in professional wrestling, with many stars aspiring to main event WrestleMania, win the WWE Championship, and earn a place in the Hall of Fame.
In 2024 however, we are off the back of three of the top free agents in recent memory all turning down WWE in favor of a move to the company’s closest competitor AEW.
While Kazuchika Okada and Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone have not yet been handed the All-Elite graphic, reports suggest they’re respective debuts are imminent.
And Will Ospreay… Well, he put all speculation regarding his future to bed when he signed with Tony Khan’s company at Full Gear 2023, months before his time in NJPW came to a close.
So, with three of wrestling’s top free agents off the market who can Triple H turn to now? Allow us to break down 12 names from the wider world of pro wrestling who could potentially become WWE superstars in the near-future.
12. Giulia
Starting off with perhaps our most likely candidate, the current NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion has been on WWE’s radar for quite some time now.
So much so, that many believed that the STARDOM star would have perhaps already agreed a deal with the company by now.
However, following the shock departure of STARDOM President Rossy Ogawa it is being reported that the Japanese/Italian star will delay her move to WWE in order to aid Ogawa in starting up his new promotion.
Despite the delay, Giulia is still expected to sign with WWE at some point, joining the litany of top Japanese stars in the company.
Her arrival may also soften the blow slightly of Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone heading to AEW.
