An update has emerged on WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka following concern shown after her appearance on Friday Night SmackDown.
Asuka showed up alongside Kairi Sane and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL on the March 15 show to interfere in the match between Bayley and Dakota Kai.
Speculation arose about Asuka potentially being injured during the segment, with the Japanese star appearing to limp and favor her knee.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now confirmed with multiple sources that Asuka hurt her knee on the show.
The report noted that Asuka was pulled from this past weekend’s house show schedule as a measure of caution so that medical tests can be done to reveal whether Asuka can work through the issue, or if she has a more severe injury.
It’s currently unclear when Asuka is planned to have these medical tests.
Asuka last wrestled on the March 11 edition of Raw, defending her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Kairi Sane against Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark.
We will continue to provide updates on Asuka’s injury status as they become available.
We wish Asuka a safe and healthy recovery.
