Kenny Omega will have his career featured in a special 10-hour presentation on AXS TV. The “Kenny Omega-thon” will air on December 28th starting at 2pm eastern.
The special will feature matches from the summer of 2016 up to the present. The summer of 2016 being when Omega won his first G1 Climax before challenging Kazuchika Okada in their legendary match at Wrestle Kingdom 11. The marathon will act as a preview of Kenny Omega’s match against Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 13.
Omega has become one of wrestling’s top draws since becoming the leader of Bullet Club in 2016. Upon his transition into the heavyweight division of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Omega has become one of the biggest names in wrestling. His matches with Kazuchika Okada in 2017 elevated him to a new level of popularity due to his stellar performances.
This special will likely air all of Omega’s singles matches since winning the G1 Climax in 2016. This would include his matches with Okada, becoming the first IWGP United States Champion, his battle with Chris Jericho, reuniting with Kota Ibushi, and finally becoming the IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
Kenny Omega is currently scheduled to face Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 13. The two men have exchanged a war of words over their philosophies of what wrestling should be. Their match on January 4th will decide who has the superior philosophy in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
