The attack on Tony Khan by Jack Perry and the Young Bucks on the April 25 episode of AEW Dynamite has seen an official reaction from the NFL.
As can be seen in the footage below, Jack Perry took the ring in Jacksonville to cheers from the AEW fans, delivering a promo filled with positivity and shaking hands with AEW owner, Tony Khan.
It didn’t continue positively, however, with Perry gut-punching Khan before the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada came down to the ring to split things up before the EVPs hit Khan with a Meltzer Driver.
With Tony and his father, Shad Khan, being owners of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL website has reacted to the attack, reporting:
“Tony Khan’s status for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2024 NFL Draft obligations could be questionable.”
The report went on to note that, while it is “an angle (professional wrestling storyline)”, it was “shocking nonetheless” with Shad adding tot he “realism to the stunning end of the show”, also stating:
“The Jaguars currently hold the No. 17 overall pick. Whether head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke can count on Tony Khan recovering from the heinous attack by Perry and the Young Bucks on Wednesday in Duval remains to be seen.”
The article further suggests we could see more on Saturday but that is also Day 3 of the NFL draft which kicks off today with Round 1.
Perry and the Young Bucks have broken their silence on their AEW Dynamite attack on Khan.
The trio have both aired their reasons for attacking the boss, with Perry noting he lost eight months of his career and the Young Bucks saying that “The Elite has arrived.”
