Dragon Lee re-signs with WWE: What does this mean for Dralistico & Rush’s future in AEW?

During his time working for WrestleTalk.com he has written and published over 4,000 news and feature articles covering events and happenings from WWE, AEW, TNA and a variety of international and independent wrestling promotions.

After speculation regarding his long-term future in the company, it is being reported that Dragon Lee has signed a new contract with WWE.

In September it was reported that Dragon Lee’s contract with WWE was nearing its expiry date, with his brother Dralistico’s AEW deal also said to have been coming up soon.

While Dralistico’s recent social media activity has suggested he may be departing his employer, we now know that Lee will be staying put where he is, as PWInsiderElite is reporting that the 31-year-old has signed a new contract with WWE.

The belief among those PWInsider talked to is that Lee has signed a new five-year contract, but that has not been 100% confirmed as of the time of writing.

Lee’s prior deal was set to expire in October, but the former WWE World Tag Team Champion had continued to be used prominently on Monday Night Raw – with his most recent match coming on this week’s episode on October 19, where he, along with Rey Mysterio, challenged for Chad Gable’s Intercontinental Championship.

Lee signed with WWE in late 2022, famously announcing so immediately after he and his brother Dralistico won the AAA World Tag Team Titles from AEW’s FTR at Noche de Campeones.

He made his debut for the company in March 2023 and spent a year in NXT before arriving on main roster the following March.

Lee was dubbed the “future of lucha libre” by WWE Hall of Famer Rey Msyterio, and the pair have remained allies on TV throughout Lee’s time in the company.

The former NXT North American Champion also formed an alliance with 2026 WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, with the pair holding the World Tag Team Titles for 70 days in late 2025.

What does Dragon Lee re-signing with WWE mean for his brothers?

When it was reported that both Dragon Lee and Dralistico had contracts expiring in their respective companies, speculation was rife regarding the possibility of one of the two departing their employer in order to join up with the other in the opposing company.

Considering how prominently Dragon Lee has been used in WWE it’s not a surprise to see his stay put; he truly has been one of the company’s standout in-ring performers of the entire year and appears set to finally capture a first main roster singles title in the near future.

When you compare that to Dralistico, who hasn’t been used in AEW since June – and only six times total on TV in 2026 – it’s not difficult to see why Lee wouldn’t be tempted to jump ship.

According to the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, Dralistico’s AEW deal will be coming up in December and it’s hard to imagine WWE not having interest in reuniting him with his brother if he becomes available.

But what about Dragon Lee and Dralistico’s other brother Rush? The former ROH World Champion has also been gone from TV for a while – with his last match being the July 1 AEW Collision taping – but according to his most recent Twitter post, he is happy in AEW and it is simply visa issues that are preventing him from returning to competition.

Rush wrote:

Everyone loves gossip!

But they actually got two things right.

I’m happy at my home, #AEW, and my visa has expired.

It was noted by Bryan Alvarez that Rush’s new visa isn’t expected to come in until early 2027, but it remains to be seen whether he will have his brother Dralistico there to welcome him back, or if he will have already moved on from AEW by then.
