The viewership figures for the August 4 All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite Homecoming special have been revealed.
As per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, Wednesday’s show drew an average of 1.102 million viewers. This is slightly down from the 1.108 million viewers who tuned in last week.
As for the 18-49 demographic, the July 28 show earned a 0.46 rating, an increase on last week’s impressive score of 0.45.
In the main event of the show, Malakai Black made his in-ring debut for AEW, pinning Cody Rhodes in a matter of minutes. After the match, Rhodes teased his retirement from wrestling, cutting an emotional promo and removing a boot.
Before he could remove his other boot, Black returned to the ring to attack Rhodes. It was revealed that after the show went off the air, Rhodes left his second boot in the ring and kissed the ring canvas.
Also on the episode, Jericho defeated Juventud Guerrera with a top-rope Judas Effect. Following the bout, it was revealed that Wardlow will be the fourth Labor of Jericho.
