MJF has hinted that his next opponent may be Samoa Joe after an incident that took place at AEW All Out on September 3, 2023.
After the victory with Adam Cole against The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver), MJF was heading back up the ramp when Samoa Joe headed down for his match.
The two briefly crossed paths, with Joe pushing the AEW World Champion leading to MJF heading back to the ring to attack Samoa Joe.
The pair were separated by security and MJF would later comment on what happened on Twitter. writing:
“I’m not the kid you shoved in Brooklyn, motherf**ker.
“Game on.”
As was noted by a follower on Twitter, this references a scene from when Joe was in WWE NXT and MJF was a security guard.
Joe, the then-NXT Champion, passes by a young MJF who goes to open a door for the star, only to be pushed out of the way.
