A new report has revealed what people backstage have been told about next week’s “throwback” episode of SmackDown.
On the last episode of SmackDown, WWE announced that the coming episode will be “throwback” themed. It is being reported that this announcement was unexpected by a number of people backstage in WWE.
According to Ringside News, which often has reports confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer, it came as a “total surprise” to people backstage when WWE announced the nostalgic show.
WWE reportedly didn’t provide workers with any more information about the upcoming special. As per Ringside News, People were told that they’d be updated later this week.
With the special being promoted with the old SmackDown logo, it seems like the event could be produced similarly to other nostalgia shows, such as Raw 25.
On the last episode of SmackDown, Daniel Bryan was banished from the Blue Brand after losing to Roman Reigns. Bryan has recently addressed rumors surrounding his WWE contract expiration date.
