WWE Releases ‘Unlikely Story Of CM Punk’s Career’ Playlist WWE

WWE Playlist has a new video and this one charts the “unlikely story of CM Punk’s career” taking us to his Survivor Series return.

The video, which can be seen below this news story, runs for 1hr 22m and starts with his “I’m Straight Edge” introduction back in July 2006 on ECW.

From there, we see Punk win his first title, being drafted to WWE Raw in June 2008 and his Intercontinental Championship win in January 2009.

Among other moments, WrestleMania 25 sees Punk win the Money in the Bank briefcase for a second time before he cashed in to become World Heavyweight Champion at Extreme Rules in 2009.

We’d also see the introduction of the Straight Edge Society, the incredibly creepy birthday celebration for Rey Mysterio’s daughter and the moment Mysterio shaved Punk’s hair.

Other major moments would include Punk joining Nexus, his meeting with Stone Cold Steve Austin and his leaving WWE promo from June 2011.

The June 27 Pipe Bomb promo also makes an appearance, along with the contract negotiation with Vince McMahon from the following month, including his demand for WWE Ice Cream Bars.

Of course, we’d also see him win the WWE title and subsequently leaving at Money in the Bank in 2011 before we see his return in July with his familiar theme tune.

The video rounds out its run time looking at his WWE Undisputed Championship victory, leading to his record breaking reign, more of his encounters with top WWE talent taking us to the defeat of The Shield at TLC in 2013.

Naturally, it ends with his return at WWE Survivor Series on November 25, 2023.
