The recently returned CM Punk has found his ‘Best in the World’ moniker in the crosshairs of WWE NXT’s Javier Bernal.
Punk has become the target of Seth Rollins, with WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s reaction to his Survivor Series return being quite hostile.
Since then, Rollins has shared his thoughts on Punk at a WWE Live event criticizing him for tearing down the company in his time away.
He would continue his dismissal of the return of Punk on the November 27 episode of WWE Raw, calling him a “hypocrite“.
Punk would also deliver a promo on last night’s WWE Raw, saying that, after nearly a decade away, he’s home.
The promo can be seen, in its entirety, below this news story and has, at the time of writing, been seen more than 675,000 times.
With CM Punk now firmly back in WWE and on the Raw brand, Javier Bernal of NXT has staked a claim to the Best in the World title.
In a tweet after last night’s WWE Raw, Bernal posted his challenge, writing:
“Welcome back @CMPunk, I want a shot at the Best in the World #WWERaw”
Whether Bernal will get his wish is yet to be seen, although main roster stars have been popping up on WWE NXT, and vice versa, quite frequently of late.
It has previously been reported that WWE under Endeavor want to make NXT its third brand alongside Raw and SmackDown.
