Cody Rhodes References Roman Reigns On WWE Raw

Cody Rhodes References Roman Reigns On WWE Raw WWE

While fans are aware that Cody Rhodes has yet to ‘finish the story’, tonight on WWE Raw he made it clear he hadn’t forgotten Roman Reigns.

As well as seemingly continuing an ongoing feud with Dominik Mysterio and Judgment Day, Cody Rhodes opened tonight’s WWE Raw with a promo addressing the speculation around Jey Uso coming to Raw.

Rhodes referenced he could have ulterior motives for wanting Jey Uso on WWE Raw, saying there “may be other reasons,” that Rhodes sought to keep Uso close.

Ultimately there was no reveal regarding which Raw star was set to be transferred to SmackDown, instead in a later backstage segment Adam Pearce noted on the phone that the decision had yet to be made.

Elsewhere in his promo, Cody made a pointed reference to the post-WrestleMania media scrum comments from Paul Heyman by saying something tells him, “we’re no longer in the third inning, boys.”

By the end of the segment, all hell had broken loose as Cody was interrupted by Judgment Day who was joined by JD McDonagh who brought steel chairs.

With Balor and McDonagh rushing the ring, Dominik showed trepidation to join the beatdown but did as Priest hung back.

Rhodes was joined by Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to fight off Judgment Day before the reluctant Priest found himself in the center of the ring, being subjected to his own babyface beatdown to end the segment.
