Joe Gacy has recalled feeling the presence of Bray Wyatt backstage in WWE in the weeks after the Wyatt Sicks made their debut together on television. This past Friday (April […]

Joe Gacy has recalled feeling the presence of Bray Wyatt backstage in WWE in the weeks after the Wyatt Sicks made their debut together on television.

This past Friday (April 24) saw WWE’s latest slate of talent roster cuts, with 24 names confirmed to have exited the company.

Among the most high profile departures was the entire Wyatt Sicks faction, with Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis all being let go.

As well as looking ahead to his 90 day non-compete clause being up in a separate post, Joe Gacy took to Twitter to share a personal story from weeks after the Wyatt Sicks made their debut on WWE Raw in July 2024.

Gacy revealed that, at a time when he was walking around backstage alone and “navigating his status” on the main roster following his call-up from NXT, he spotted a moth backstage, and in that moment he felt the presence of Wyatt.

Gacy wrote:

Just a story for the fans,

True story. In the first few weeks after the debut of the Wyatt Sicks, I was walking around back stage alone. Navigating my new status as an NXT call up. In that moment I glanced over at a curtain and what do I see. A moth…..

I look down and see this moth, brown with spots on its back and big. I looked around and no one was near me.

In that moment I felt Windhams presence with me…….It might sound weird but in that moment I felt like he accepted and supported the journey we were about to embark on. It was very surreal and a moment I will never forget. That moment and every moment after I really felt him there with us. Thank you again.

Gacy’s comments echo his tag team partner Dexter Lumis, who said, in his own parting message following his WWE release on Friday, that he and the rest of the Wyatt Sicks “truly felt” Bray Wyatt’s presence every time they made their entrance together.

Carmelo Hayes has opened up about losing the WWE United States Championship to Sami Zayn just three weeks ahead of WrestleMania 42. Along with long-time rival Ilja Dragunov, Carmelo Hayes […]

Carmelo Hayes has opened up about losing the WWE United States Championship to Sami Zayn just three weeks ahead of WrestleMania 42.

Along with long-time rival Ilja Dragunov, Carmelo Hayes helped breath new life into the mid-card on Friday Night SmackDown throughout his 98 day United States Championship run.

Melo’s over three months with the gold saw him successfully defend it eight times and frequently deliver match of the night performances against the likes of Dragunov, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Fenix and even stars from outside WWE such as AAA’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and TNA’s Leon Slater.

Unfortunately for Hayes and his fans however, WWE booked the Boston native to drop his title to Sami Zayn just three weeks before WrestleMania 42, which would then set Zayn up to defend the gold against Carmelo’s former NXT partner Trick Williams at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

While he was booked in a US Title rematch with Zayn the following week, Hayes lost that match due to a storyline knee injury and was forced to sit out of WrestleMania for the second year running.

Speaking with Michael Fairman, Hayes said “it sucked” to have the US Title taken away from him, but he refused to have a “woe is me” attitude afterwards:

“I mean, it sucked. It definitely sucked and it was heartbreaking and it felt like I ran the race. I was so close to just throwing my arms up and crossing the finish line and then I got kind of sidestepped a little bit. Yeah it sucks…

“Listen I’m a pro. At the end of the day I’m a pro. I show up to work, what they need from me I do it and I go above and beyond no matter what every time. It’s one of those things, you got to charge it to the game. It wasn’t a personal thing right? It wasn’t a me thing. It was whatever it needed to be, whatever that was and whatnot.

“It’s not something that I’m going to sit here and go, ‘Oh, woe is me.’ I don’t move like that. I had a day or two where I was like, ‘What the hell?’ And then after that I was like, ‘Back to work man.’ Just a chip on my shoulder and watch what’s going to happen.”

If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.

Further discussing his US Title run, Hayes said that the success of it was an example of what he can do in WWE if he’s “given the ball”:

“When you think about my journey on the main roster, where I had to kind of start low. I start high and then just all over the place and kind of get in where I fit in. And I finally found my footing, and really all it came down to was just them giving me the ball. That was it.

“All I needed was the ball and I just needed them to say, ‘Alright here, run.’ And that was what I did.

“I ran and nobody could catch me and they had to take the ball away from me. But that’s all I needed and that’s all I’ll ever need is just the and ball and the opportunity.”

Former Intercontinental and United States Champion Apollo Crews has commented for the first time since his WWE release on Friday, April 24. Ahead of the much anticipated Friday Night SmackDown […]

Former Intercontinental and United States Champion Apollo Crews has commented for the first time since his WWE release on Friday, April 24.

Ahead of the much anticipated Friday Night SmackDown after WrestleMania 42, news began to get out of a wave of WWE talent releases, with the eventual total number of cuts amounting to 24.

One of the most tenured names on the list of cuts which featured the entire Wyatt Sicks faction (Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy), Aleister Black, Zelina and Kairi Sane, was Apollo Crews, who first debuted in WWE in 2015.

Two days following his departure, Crews took to Instagram to thank fans and everyone he shared a ring with in WWE over the past 11 years.

Crews wrote:

Thank you, @wwe, for eleven incredible years. Wow. Eleven years. What an incredible journey. I feel blessed to have had a career in WWE that lasted that long. Thanks to everyone who sent me messages or texts. Even if I didn’t reply, just know I’m grateful.

Throughout my career, I was fortunate to suffer only one serious injury that sidelined me for a significant amount of time. I’ve been lucky to experience many amazing moments during my time with WWE. It’s been a fun ride, and I appreciate everyone who supported me along the way.
To everyone I shared the ring with… thank you.

All things come to an end. This is my time.

After sitting out almost the entirety of 2025 due to a torn pectoral injury, Apollo Crews returned to action in a dark match in AAA in November, before eventually reemerging on WWE programming two months later.

While he had been seen on SmackDown on occasion, typically alongside Matt Cardona, much of his in-ring action in 2026 has been on WWE Main Event.

His last match in the company – a loss to AAA’s Mr. Iguana – came during the April 17 taping of Main Event, but aired on the same day of his release on April 24.

What Next For Apollo Crews?

11 years in WWE is an achievement in of itself and Apollo Crews has certainly achieved great success at points throughout his career, however, many fans would argue that his potential was never truly reached.

Easily one of WWE’s best athletes, Crews spent much of his career without a character or real opportunity to show what he could so outside of deliver inside the ring.

That’s why, at still only 38 years old, this chapter outside of WWE could be one of his most exciting yet. With no shortage of promotions that will likely want to book him, Crews may get the chance to reinvent himself on the independent scene or perhaps somewhere like TNA or AEW.

Regardless of where he ends up, exciting possibilities certainly lie ahead for Uhaa Nation.

Tiffany Stratton says she’s going to do “everything in her power” to ensure she never misses WWE WrestleMania again after sitting out on this year’s event.

One year on from successfully defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41, Tiffany Stratton did not find a spot on the card for WrestleMania 42.

While there had been rumors that a WWE Women’s United States Title three-way between herself, Giulia and Jordynne Grace was in the works for Las Vegas event, Stratton instead defeated Giulia for the title on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 42 this past Friday (April 24).

Appearing on Unseen with Joey Karni, Stratton addressed her WrestleMania 42 omission, saying it’s left a “chip on her shoulder” heading into next year:

“I feel like my mindset has always been controlling what I can control which is making the most out of all my segments, making the most out of my matches, making sure I’m delivering on everything and having really good matches with everybody.

“Unfortunately being on WrestleMania wasn’t on the cards for me this year. However, that just kind of leaves me with a chip on my shoulder for next year and I’m going to do everything in my power to never let that happen ever again.”

If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.

Tiffany Stratton Believes WrestleMania 42 Absence Could Lead To “Something Bigger” In The Future

While it did feel strange not seeing Stratton compete at WrestleMania 42, this is largely because fans have become accustomed to seeing the 26-year-old succeed in WWE in her short time in the company.

Since first debuting in NXT in late 2021, Stratton has held the NXT Women’s Title, Money in the Bank and WWE Women’s Championship – the latter of which was a 302 day reign – and now the Women’s US Championship.

Stratton said she feels “blessed” to have achieved so much in wrestling at a young age and trusts the timing of everything that’s happened in her journey thus far, as well as going forward:

“Honestly, I’m only 26 years old. I have so much time left in this business to have all of those accolades like you said at such a young age. I feel just so blessed.

“I feel like I got into this business at the perfect time. I was the perfect age and the cards have always just kind of fell into place for me. I’ve always worked hard, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve just had very good timing with everything and I fully believe everything happens for a reason.

“Me not being on this year’s Mania is setting me up for something bigger. Whether that’s SummerSlam in Minnesota this year and fighting for the WWE Women’s Championship, or main eventing next year’s WrestleMania. I fully believe everything happens for a reason.”

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has heaped praise on Blake Monroe ahead of her imminent call-up from NXT to Friday Night SmackDown.

Following the news of Ethan Page, Sol Ruca and Joe Hendry’s main roster call-ups on the Raw after WrestleMania 42, the first SmackDown since “The Grandest Stage of Them All” gave fans confirmation of even more names making the jump to the blue brand.

Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley made an immediate impact with their debut, where they took out Paige, Brie Bella, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and eventually Rhea Ripley, but WWE also confirmed elsewhere on the show that two former AEW stars: Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe will also be moving from NXT to SmackDown.

While Saints has been confirmed to be debuting on Friday nights next week, we only know that Monroe is “coming soon.” But that hasn’t stopped anticipation building for the main roster debut of “The Glamour.”

During an appearance on Busted Open, Henry spoke excitedly about Monroe’s prospects going forward, saying the English star has “no weakness” in her game:

“What’s even better about Blake Monroe, and I know this sounds so crazy, but she’s one of the boys.

“Everybody’s gonna love her. She is an old school, throwback wrestler. She’s funny and crass. She said something in AEW in the training room one time, I turned I was like, ‘What did you say?’ She’s just got it.

“When you like people, you work harder for them and she works hard. You watch her matches and she’ll do anything and everything to succeed. And her wrestling skillset is that she can adapt to everybody’s s**t.

“She doesn’t have a weakness, and there’s very few wrestlers that can flip and fly, that can grapple, chain wrestle, that can swing them and punch and kick, that can do everything. She can do everything.”

If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.

WWE NXT’s Roster In Need Of A Rebuild After Slew Of Call-Ups

While the women’s division remains strong even in the wake of the key departures of Sol Ruca, Blake Monroe and Fatal Influence, NXT is certainly in need of a roster rebuild post WrestleMania 42.

2026 has seen the men’s division of NXT completely gutted, with Oba Femi, Trick Williams and three out of the four stars involved in WWE NXT Stand & Deliver’s main event match called up.

While there’s certainly some talent rising through the ranks that can challenge Tony D’Angelo for his position at the top, it feels like the brand could also perhaps use some new signees from other promotions.

Mike Santana is someone who is already known to the NXT audience and has a contract in TNA that is reportedly coming up in the Summer, while former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL has already signed with WWE according to a recent report from PWInsider.

A mixture of experienced names such as these, combined with homegrown talent like Keanu Carver & Shiloh Hill should be enough for NXT to bounce back, but it may take some time before the roster feels as strong as it did six months ago.

WWE star The Miz says he’s “reviewing every legal option” available to him following Danhausen’s recent ‘home invasion.’

If getting punched in the groin at WrestleMania 42 wasn’t bad enough, The Miz this week saw his WWE rival Danhausen invite himself into he and his wife Maryse’s home, use their pool and golf simulator, as well as steal both a Slammy Award and a bicycle that belonged to their daughter.

With The Miz’s attempt at revenge inside the ring resulting in him getting pinned by Danhausen on Friday’s SmackDown (April 24), the two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion is now pursuing legal action against the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star.

Taking to Twitter, The Miz shared footage of Danhausen “unlawfully entering” his home, along with the statement:

Danhausen unlawfully entered our home.

He used our pool, trespassed on private property, and treated my golf simulator like it was public access. Most concerning, he caused significant damage to my wife’s hair, which, to this day, is still being treated.

We have formally retained the best attorneys in the country and have begun reviewing every available legal option. Our legal team is actively preparing the appropriate response and pursuing this matter accordingly.

This is no longer a joke. This not a curse. Danhausen is a criminal. He is liable.

Danhausen is currently 2-0 in WWE since arriving in the company back at February’s Elimination Chamber 2026 premium live event, with his first win coming at the expense of The Miz’s protégé Kit Wilson on the April 10 SmackDown.

Danhausen & WWE: A Match Made In Heaven

The tepid reaction to Danhausen upon his surprise debut at Elimination Chamber saw many worried that the WWE audience wouldn’t ‘get’ his character.

While he had built a loyal fanbase on the independent scene, as well as in AEW, he hadn’t been seen consistently on TV in over two years before he arrived in WWE. So, it’s perhaps understandable that fans expecting a bigger name to emerge from the mystery crate would have been left disappointed.

Despite the rough start however, Danhausen has quickly become one of WWE’s most popular stars, providing consistent social media gold for the company and rakes of merchandise sales based on recent reports.

While R-Truth has always been reliable to provide some laughs, he has had to do the heavy lifting on the comedy front for WWE for quite some time.

There will always be detractors who could do without comedy in pro wrestling, but for the majority of fans, Danhausen has been a breath of fresh air and already proving to be one of the company’s most successful acquisitions in some time.

Seeing the former indie darling share a ring with John Cena at WrestleMania 42 was surreal, and a satisfying payoff to Danhausen’s hard work and commitment to his character over the years.

Paul Heyman has heaped praise on Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Yachty following his announcement that he’s sticking around in WWE.

WrestleMania season is often a time when celebrities show up and get involved in the company’s storylines, with this year’s event perhaps being the most egregious and controversial example of this in recent memory.

While IShowSpeed’s WrestleMania debut in the show’s undercard was generally well received, Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll becoming focal points of Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton’s main event level feud for the Undisputed WWE Championship was where many fans drew the line.

Perhaps the most natural implementation of a celebrity of the entire road to WrestleMania however, came about when Lil Yachty aligned with Trick Williams ahead of his United States Championship match with Sami Zayn.

The pair bounced off each other perfectly, with Yachty serving as an excellent fit as Trick’s hype man during his entrance and promos.

Yachty was also not afraid to get physically involved, including taking a Helluva Kick from Zayn on the April 10 episode of SmackDown, and in-turn receiving plaudits from fans for his selling of the move.

While the other celebrity names mentioned all vanished after WrestleMania 42, Yachty instead announced on the April 24 SmackDown that he would be staying around in WWE to continue to accompany “Trick Willy.”

In reaction to Yachty’s announcement, Paul Heyman took to Twitter to share some glowing praise for “Lil Boat” and the respect he’s showed to WWE since coming in.

Heyman wrote:

We are living during a moment in time where the celebrity involvement in @WWE has become quite controversial.

@lilyachty’s respect for WWE, the talent – history – and culture, along with the fan base, is undeniable. He’s a credit to the concept of “crossover into our business.”

@TKOGrp @_trickwilliams @USANetwork @TripleH

Lil Yachty had often been shown in attendance at WWE events before forming his on-screen alliance with Trick Williams

A Natural Babyface Turn For Trick Williams Post WrestleMania 42

Trick Williams’ WWE United States Championship celebration saw an unsavoury end as he and Yachty were attacked from behind by Sami Zayn, dressed in disguise as the Gingerbread Man.

Zayn’s trick is sure to result in a rematch between he and Williams, with the former champion now firmly a heel, despite his delusions otherwise, and Williams a babyface.

Williams’ transition into a babyface has been seamless, largely because WWE haven’t changed a single thing about him, his character or his actions.

Trick scrapping the United States Title open challenge obviously is a heel move, but it’s in line with his character and makes sense.

Too many times in the past we have seen heels turn babyface and lose their edge and thankfully it seems as if WWE has no intention to mess with what’s working.

It has officially been announced that WWE AAA will be revealing a brand new General Manager in just under a month’s time.

On tonight’s WWE AAA episode, Marisela Pena said the following:

“It has been exactly a year since we made history at WrestleMania, and now it’s the time to make history again.

“After a few weeks of careful reflection, I’m proud to announce that AAA will have a new General Manager.

“For the next few weeks, I will be looking for the best candidate to assume this super important and powerful role, and take lucha libre to heights never seen before.

“The new General Manager will be named live on Saturday, May 23 here in Mexico City.

“Thank you for all your incredible support, and prepare yourselves, because with the new General Manager in AAA, nothing will be the same.”

If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.

La Lic. Marisela Peña nombrará al nuevo Gerente General de AAA este 23 de mayo en Ciudad de México pic.twitter.com/Ky1cg109Z9

As far as WWE’s current General Manager roster – Adam Pearce is the GM for Raw, Nick Aldis for SmackDown, Robert Stone for NXT, and Timothy Thatcher for Evolve.

The main creative forces behind WWE AAA in recent months have been The Undertaker and Jeremy Borash, but they haven’t been featured in an on-screen capacity.

Who Could Be The New AAA General Manager?

As far as potential WWE AAA General Managers, there hasn’t really been anything teased other than Dorian Roldan trying to make a case for himself to Marisela Pena in the hope that he’d be able to put El Ojo – El Hijo Del Vikingo and Omos – in a better position.

One logical candidate could be WWE and AAA Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, though he has been on commentary with Corey Graves and JBL as of late, so being the the GM may mean he’d have to leave that role.

Another name that has been thown around is Chavo Guerrero, who was said to have been back in the fold in WWE/AAA a while ago, but hasn’t appeared since then, so this could be the new role that he’s back for.

We’ll keep you posted if any updates come to light on who it could be.

IYO SKY has commented on Kairi Sane’s WWE release that was announced yesterday as part of the company’s talent cuts.

The latest round of WWE talent cuts took place on April 24, with 24 confirmed names being released from the company.

Perhaps the most surprising name among those released from the company was Kairi Sane, who has been an active part of a storyline with IYO SKY and Asuka on Monday Night Raw for the past six months.

There has been an outpouring of support from both fans and wrestlers alike for Kairi since the news broke, and IYO SKY has now commented on Kairi’s departure.

IYO SKY Comments On Kairi Sane’s WWE Release

Taking to social media, IYO shared a post for Kairi, showing her support for her best friend following her release.

She wrote:

I understand that everyone, as an athlete, eventually faces a turning point when thinking about their life and career, but I feel so heartbroken that it came at such an unexpected time

Kairi was truly loved by all her colleagues, not just as a performer but as a person.

She was kinder than anyone, a little airheaded in the most endearing way, funny, charming, and my proud best friend. A comrade-in-arms who faced countless hardships in America, shed so many tears, and grew together with me. It’s so hard to accept that Kairi won’t be in the passenger seat of the rental car anymore, but…

I’m absolutely certain that with her innate talent and the incredible knowledge and experience she’s gained in WWE, Kairi’s new journey will be something truly amazing.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish for my beloved Kairi’s success and happiness. I love you so much Kairi.

We’ll be best friends forever and always @KAIRI_official

You can see the updated list of confirmed WWE releases last night at this link.

Kairi Sane’s Next Move Following WWE Departure

With Kairi subject to her 90 day non-compete clause, there has been speculation on where she may end up once she is free to return to the ring outside the company.

While AEW is the natural first landing point that comes to fans’ mind, AEW themselves already have a stacked women’s roster fighting for television time, so it may not be the right moment to bring in more names to overcrowd the division.

Should Kairi return to Japan, the most obvious choice would be Rossy Ogawa’s Marigold promotion, which is where IYO SKY had previously competed in two matches in recent years, and is home to Kairi’s former partner Mayu Iwatani, on top of looking for a new top star after Utami Hayashishita announced she would be leaving the promotion.

Alternatively, Kairi could follow in the footsteps of fellow former WWE star Sareee and freelance all across Japan, should she continue wrestling.

Dexter Lumis of the Wyatt Sicks has commented on he and the rest of the group’s WWE release during last night’s talent cuts.

WWE held it’s latest batch of talent releases last night (April 24), which saw 24 confirmed names be released from the company.

Among those names was every member of SmackDown’s Wyatt Sicks faction, with Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis and Nikki Cross all being let go from the company.

Dexter Lumis Comments On WWE Departure

Taking to Instagram to comment on his WWE release, Dexter opened up on his time in the group, thanking the fans and opponents of the Wyatt Sicks during their run.

Lumis noted that he and the rest of the group ‘felt Bray’s presence’ every time they came to the ring.

He wrote:

Won’t make this too sappy, but I love each and every member of this group. The task we took on together was truly monumental. I won’t look back with any regrets.

Thank you to anyone who ever worked with me/us. The @wwe locker room is filled with amazing talent.

The State Of SmackDown’s Tag Team Division

WWE SmackDown’s tag team division has been the focus of a lot of fan criticism in recent months since the division’s incredible showcase at SummerSlam 2025.

In the months since, Tommaso Ciampa, Andrade, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are all no longer with the company, with the titles falling back into the background as teams such as the MFTs and now Damian Priest and R-Truth holding the titles.

SmackDown’s tag team division coming out of this round of releases consists solely of the MFTs, Fraxiom, Los Garza, Damian Priest & R-Truth and various other thrown together duos, such as the recent alliance between The Miz and Kit Wilson.

WWE star Nattie (Natalya) has opened up on her career ahead of her 20 year anniversary of signing with WWE next January.

Natalya is one of the longest tenured stars on the current WWE roster, and the longest tenured women’s star in the history of the company.

First signing with WWE in January 2007, Natalya has remained with the company uninterrupted, capturing multiple championships in her career, and undergoing several character changes, including her recent shift to the ‘Low-Key Legend’.

Nattie Reflects On Uninterrupted WWE Career

Speaking to TV Insider, Nattie opened up on her interrupted WWE career, and how she sometimes doesn’t realise the things she has accomplished in her career.

She said:

“It’s extremely rare and uninterrupted. It’s not calling anyone out or throwing shade on anyone, but when I hear people go ‘I’ve been in wrestling for 20 years’. Okay, but have you been in wrestling uninterrupted for this long.

“I started my career and training in 2000 with my family in The Dungeon. I know I’m dating myself, but I did start very young. I’ve been with WWE in January 2027 for 20 years, signed and uninterrupted, which is unprecedented. No other woman has done it. No other woman has been an active part of the women’s division for as long as I have.

“That’s why when I give someone credit like a Shayna Baszler, I’m not bullsh*tting anyone. I know Shayna is tough and among the most dangerous because I’ve been through everyone who has come through WWE over the last 20 years. I know because I’ve locked up against these women, fought against them, shared locker rooms with these women, put matches together, and experienced all these personalities. It’s something I’m very proud of.

“I heard Triple H do his interview with Cody Rhodes. It was really cool because it got me thinking that I sometimes forget my own body of work. When Triple H says sometimes talent don’t realize all that they’ve done. Not everyone is going to be on everything all the time, but you think about how you’ve achieved so much.

“I thought, ‘man, I’ve achieved so much’, but I’m not comfortable resting on the things I’ve achieved and just sitting with it, and being like ‘I’m done’. There is so much more I want to achieve. I can say I’ve done this and that and won these championships.

“For Nattie, if I didn’t continue to fight, push, grow, evolve, push myself to be challenged by different things like being a coach on LFG, which is a first for me in WWE, I wouldn’t be the performer I am today. The second you start fighting for your dreams is the second that it’s over.”

Asuka has commented on her tag team partner Kairi Sane’s WWE release as part of last night’s wave of talent departures. WWE held it’s latest round of talent cuts on […]

Asuka has commented on her tag team partner Kairi Sane’s WWE release as part of last night’s wave of talent departures.

WWE held it’s latest round of talent cuts on April 24, with 24 confirmed names so far having been released from the company.

Of all the names that were among those let go, perhaps the most surprising to many was Kairi Sane, who had been an active part of a storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY on Monday Night Raw for a number of months, with her even wrestling on this week’s episode of Raw.

With IYO and Asuka’s planned match being bumped from WrestleMania 42, and Kairi now being released from the company, it seems as though the storyline won’t reach it’s natural conclusion.

Asuka Comments On Kairi Sane’s WWE Release

Kairi took to social media today to comment on her WWE release, which led to an outpouring of support from both fans and her former co-workers.

Asuka would respond to Kairi’s post, commenting on her departure, saying:

No matter what, I’ll always be in your corner, Kairi. I’ll never leave you feeling alone.

Kairi and all other WWE main roster stars released last night are subject to a 90 day non-compete clause before they’re cleared to sign elsewhere.

You can see the updated list of all WWE departures that took place on April 24 at this link.

What’s Next For Asuka & IYO SKY Following Kairi Sane’s WWE Release?

Prior to last night, it had been reported that the planned match between IYO SKY and Asuka had potentially been moved from WrestleMania 42 to Backlash in Tampa in two weeks.

However, with Kairi Sane now gone from the company, and her being arguably the most important part of the story, it remains to be seen how the story between the two will continue, if at all.

IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley officially went their separate ways on this week’s Raw show after their victory over the Kabuki Warriors, with Rhea now fighting Fatal Influence on SmackDown alongside Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.

There are other options for both IYO and Asuka on the Raw roster, including potential title matches with Becky Lynch or Liv Morgan, should the story between them ultimately be shelved due to the release of Kairi Sane.
