Dominik Mysterio plans after AAA Triplemanía 34: How can WWE rebuild his main roster career?

Tonight’s AAA Triplemanía 34 Night Two event in Mexico City will see Dominik Mysterio defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano.

After a full year of holding the title, the time feels right for a change; with El Grande Americano’s work in AAA in 2026 warranting a push as the promotion’s top babyface champion.

But where will that leave ‘Dirty Dom?’ While The Undertaker has booked the former two-time Intercontinental Champion as a serious heel champion in AAA, his character on Raw has become more associated with comic relief.

Without any gold to his name, WWE should be looking to rebuild his career on the main roster post-Triplemanía 34, and these are three ways they could do so.

Qualify for the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match

At the beginning of the year Dominik Mysterio seemed like one of the potential frontrunners to win the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, yet now, one month away from the event, it’s uncertain whether he’ll even make the cut.

A Money in the Bank cash-in is about as fitting a way for ‘Dirty Dom’ to capture his first world title there is, but his recent booking certainly doesn’t install much confidence that WWE actually view Mysterio as at that level just yet.

If WWE want to rehab him back to the point where he does however, they should, at the very least have him qualify for the Money in the Bank and come close to winning it. Then, perhaps by the 2027 ladder match, WWE will be ready to pull the trigger on him.

Bring Omos with him to WWE Raw

While Raquel Rodriguez certainly brings the muscle on the women’s side of The Judgment Day, the men’s side is lacking in threat.

Thankfully for Mysterio, he has an over seven foot tall Nigerian Giant in his corner over in AAA; a giant that hasn’t been seen on main roster WWE programming in years.

With Dom expressing his desire to have his El Ojo AAA faction crossover with The Judgment Day, perhaps the first step is bringing Omos with him to the September 14 episode of WWE Raw.

Sending Omos to lay out Je’Von Evans, Joe Hendry and anyone else that’s wronged him, Mysterio can assert his position as a serious threat to anyone that anyone he crosses paths with.

Leave The Judgment Day behind

With Finn Balor removed earlier this year, Dominik Mysterio stands as the longest standing member of The Judgment Day, with four years now passing since he joined the group.

Doing so was a career changing move for Dom, and the group has been one of the biggest success stories of the Triple H era for sure.

However, now, in 2026, it feels like a bit of a shell of its former self, and without some real creative investment and/or new members, Mysterio may be better off breaking out on his own instead.

WWE fans have seemingly been ready for a Mysterio babyface turn for a little while now, and with his character and Judgment Day as a whole getting a bit stale, it may be time for a big change.
