Creative plans for a potential new WWE tag team to debut soon have now been revealed featuring two absent stars.
After being called up to the WWE main roster back in January, Jordynne Grace has not appeared on WWE television in many months, with her last SmackDown match taking place against Tiffany Stratton back in March.
Another women’s WWE star that has not appeared on WWE television since March is Ivy Nile, with her last appearance being part of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Gauntlet match that was won by Bayley to set up her match with AJ Lee for the title.
It was recently reported that Ivy’s WWE contract was set to expire soon, with speculation about when, or if, she would return to WWE television, and it seems we may have our answer soon.
Ivy Nile & Jordynne Grace Tag Team Forming Soon?
Per False Finish, there has been creative pitches within the company regarding a potential new women’s tag team consisting of Ivy Nile and Jordynne Grace.
It is not yet confirmed if the team will form on WWE television, or what brand they would be a part of, as Ivy is a current member of the Raw roster, while Jordynne is part of the SmackDown roster.
Tonight’s SmackDown show will feature two women’s matches, with Chelsea Green defending her Interim WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax, while Paige will face off against Nikki Bella.
Will Jordynne Grace & Ivy Nile Save Women’s Tag Team Division?
Ever since the Women’s Tag Team Champions were introduced in WWE back in 2019, the division has never truly had a lot of spotlight and attention put in by WWE creative, both under Vince McMahon and now Triple H.
With Fatal Influence currently reigning as the champions, fans have hoped that their reign could finally be the one that sees more focus be put on the division.
On the current roster, WWE has any combination of Judgment Day members, any combination of Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley, Michin & B-Fab and the Irresistible Forces in it’s division currently available.
There is definitely spot for a new top team in the division, specifically on the babyface side, which would be the perfect slot for Ivy Nile and Jordynne Grace to slide into.
