Ahead of the release of her major Hollywood debut this year, a current WWE champion has landed another new movie role.
On September 14, Liv Morgan’s Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of its global theatrical release.
While fans await an official global release date for the movie, Deadline has revealed that Morgan’s next big Hollywood role will be in ‘Ping’ – a psychological thriller written and directed by Richie Gordon and produced in Mississippi.
Along with Morgan, Obsession actress Megan Lawless, Fivel Stewart, Savannah Moss and Carter Jenkins have been confirmed for the cast list for Ping.
Per Deadline, the synopsis for Ping is as follows:
“An aspiring creative director who lands a remote dream job, but is forced to choose between her sanity and a boss she can never mute.”
Richie Gordon, who will be making his feature directorial debut with Ping, discussed the movie’s concept and his excitement for it’s future release:
“Ping examines the promises of modern work that can push us to work harder and longer, sometimes at the expense of ourselves – it asks those of us living through burnout culture: what is enough? I was blown away by how deeply that resonated with Megan and the rest of the cast, and am incredibly fortunate to have some of the best crew in the business to bring it to life. I’m in awe of the talent behind this film and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”
Back in May, Morgan expressed gratitude towards WWE for allowing her to “spread her wings a little bit” with her acting ambitions, but insisted that she remains committed to WWE and considers herself a pro wrestling “lifer.”
When it comes to her 2026 inside the ring, Morgan has enjoyed perhaps her most successful year to date, having won the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble and in-turn the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.
Morgan’s run as Women’s World Champion has now passed 140 days, and she most recently defended the gold on this past Monday’s WWE Raw (September 7) against Stephanie Vaquer.

Becky Lynch Up Next For Liv Morgan After Stephanie Vaquer Win?
While the result was once again determined by some Judgment Day interference, Liv Morgan chalked up her second straight win over Stephanie Vaquer on Raw.
‘La Primera’ will certainly have reason to be believe she’s owed a rematch, but it feels like will now only come after Becky Lynch has had her own one-on-one match with the champion.
It’s certainly likely that Lynch will suffer the same fate as Vaquer, but that’s what will likely need to happen before we get the eventual three-way for the gold, perhaps at Money in the Bank on October 10.
