On the September 11 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, CM Punk is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn.

This match was made after Zayn has become a constant thorn in the side of Punk.

Back on the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, Punk made a surprise return in his hometown of Chicago to defeat Zayn to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Since then, Zayn has become obsessed on getting a rematch for the title after demanding one multiple times.

This has led to Zayn inserting himself into title bouts and number one contender matches in the past couple of months.

Wanting the top prize on SmackDown back gives Sami an edge unlike he has ever had before.

That just might be enough to make Zayn an ideal next champion following the upcoming SmackDown from Mexico City.

Sami Zayn becomes SmackDown’s public enemy number one

On the August 21 episode of SmackDown, CM Punk defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

In front of his friends and family, Owens came up short against Punk, but there was a big reason why.

Sami Zayn got involved and betrayed his former best friend, costing him the title.

After nailing KO with the title belt, Zayn also laid out CM Punk with the championship as well.

It looked like Zayn had garnered enough enemies, but he only made things worse the following week.

On the August 28 SmackDown, Sami Zayn once again put himself right in the middle of the Undisputed WWE Championship picture.

During a number one contender’s match, Zayn caused a no contest in the triple threat between Kevin Owens, GUNTHER and Finn Balor.

This has led to everyone gunning for Zayn, looking for some revenge on him.

Known as “The Last Real Good Guy,” Sami Zayn has been anything but that as of late.

With Punk, KO, GUNTHER and Balor all wanting to get their hands on Sami, it would make a ton of sense if he was able to once again become the champion.

Zayn becoming a two-time Undisputed WWE Champion would put an even bigger target on “The Last Real Good Guy.”

By hook or crook, it seems like Zayn has a strong chance to beat Punk for the gold.

Sami Zayn winning the Undisputed WWE Championship feels like a no-brainer and should happen on the September 11 SmackDown to give the main event picture an even more unpredictable feel coming out of Mexico City.
