Roman Reigns Next WWE World Heavyweight Championship Challengers

Roman Reigns will next defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 Raw episode, against #1 contender’s tournament winner Penta.

While anything can happen on Monday Night Raw, WWE has already lined up several potential opponents for the Tribal Chief following this title match.

From championship rematches to blood feuds, the company has several options for stars who could be next to step up to the Tribal Chief.

Here are five potential next opponents for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

LA Knight

Since Roman Reigns’ title defense at SummerSlam, LA Knight has reminded the OTC on numerous occasions that he has a target on his back.

With Reigns and Knight having several confrontations on TV, it appeared that this was set to be the World Heavyweight Champion’s next big match.

With Reigns set to face Penta first, and Knight’s recent run-ins with the 946, this match hasn’t happened as quickly as many fans anticipated.

With Knight having previously came up short during WWE Undisputed Universal Championship matches against Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023 and Royal Rumble 2024, it will be interesting to see how a title match goes years later.

Solo Sikoa

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa faced off in Tribal Combat on the January 6, 2025 Netflix premiere edition of Monday Night Raw.

While Reigns walked away from this match still Head of the Table, a lot has changed since then, with Sikoa experiencing a surge of popularity as a babyface.

With Solo Sikoa refusing to fall in line on the August 17 Raw episode and instead attacking Roman Reigns, a future match with the duo on opposing sides seems inevitable.

With Roman Reigns advertised for Survivor Series WarGames, there is a possibility that we could see these two cousins face off in the titular match.

Royce Keys

With his recent run-ins with other members of the Bloodline, we could soon see Royce Keys battle the Head of the Table.

After losing to Jacob Fatu in a brutal Street Fight on the August 3 Raw episode, Royce Keys made his return on the August 24 episode, attacking The Usos, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa alongside Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.

Keys, Nima and Price – collectively known as the 946 – have remained a thorn in the side of The Usos, attacking them in the parking lot during the August 31 episode, and torching their car on the September 7 show.

Whether it be in a singles match, or in WarGames at Survivor Series, Keys and Reigns seem to be on a collision course.

Bronson Reed

While Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed are currently 1-1 in singles competition, we have seen the Aussie stand tall over the OTC more often than the other way around.

Following Reed laying out Reigns and stealing his sneakers on multiple occasions ahead of their tag-team match at SummerSlam 2025, Reigns defeated Reed at Clash In Paris, but was brutalized by him following the match.

With Bronson Reed scoring a huge victory over Reigns in an Australian Street Fight at Crown Jewel two months later, the former NXT North American Champion has called for a rubber match on numerous occasions.

Now that Reed has returned from injury, we could see him once again become a problem for the OTC.

Oba Femi

After defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi called out new World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

Femi has actively been kept away from Reigns since then, with the King of the Ring winner even giving up his guaranteed title shot to instead battle Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam.

Oba Femi vs Roman Reigns feels like an inevitability at this point, with WWE clearly saving the match for a special occasion.

With Money in the Bank, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and the road to WrestleMania 43 coming up, if ever there was a time to start building towards this heavyweight clash, it’s now.
