First-Time WWE World Champions To Be Crowned

With Roman Reigns and CM Punk holding WWE’s men’s world titles, some fans have recently criticised WWE for having the same names in the main event scene.

With these criticisms acknowledged by Triple H during the SummerSlam press conference, it’s clear that WWE is conscious about its ability to create new stars.

From homegrown names to wrestlers who feel destined to be world champion, there are a number of stars who look poised to reach the top of the WWE mountain in the next year or so.

Here are five stars who could win their first WWE world championship soon.

Lyra Valkyria

Following her runs as NXT Women’s Champion, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion, Lyra Valkyria inching closer and closer to becoming a Women’s Grand Slam champion.

Valkyria defeated inaugural Women’s Grand Slam champion Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July.

While it appears that she will continue her rivalry with Bayley following the Role Model’s return, we could see Valkyria challenge for either the Women’s World Championship or WWE Women’s Championship following this feud.

Having defeated a number of former world champions – including the three of the Four Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair Bayley and Becky Lynch – a title win would feel like a formality, following Valkyria proving herself in between the ropes.

Je’Von Evans

Je’Von Evans has stated on several occasions that he intends to become the youngest world champion in WWE history, breaking Randy Orton’s record.

Randy Orton won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004 at the age of 2024, meaning 22-year old Je’Von Evans has just two years to achieve this goal.

Evans has became a mainstay on the Raw brand since his main roster debut earlier this year, sharing the ring with a number of former world champions, including Seth Rollins, GUNTHER and Kofi Kingston.

A Je’Von Evans world championship win would be huge, not just for him, but for WWE history as a whole.

Dominik Mysterio

While Dominik Mysterio has reigned with the AAA Mega Championship, he has yet to hold a WWE main roster world championship.

With the likes of Big E predicting that Dirty Dom will hold either the Undisputed WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Title within the next five years, many are expecting Mysterio to win either SmackDown or Raw’s top titles soon.

With his storied history with CM Punk, it would be interesting to see the two stars face off with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.

Sol Ruca

Sol Ruca was one of the NXT stars featured during the December 2025 Saturday Night’s Main Event: John Cena’s Final Match event, defeating former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley in singles action.

Ruca hit the ground running following her official main roster call-up in April, going on to hold the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for almost 60 days after defeating Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy.

The former NXT Women’s North American Champion has already clashed with Liv Morgan, facing the Women’s World Champion in her Raw debut on April 20.

With Sol Ruca qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match, a win on October 10 would allow Ruca to cash in for a Women’s World Title match at a time of her choosing.

Oba Femi

Oba Femi has been pushed to the moon since arriving on the main roster at the beginning of the year, with WWE outwardly touting him as the next big thing.

After an impressive showing in this year’s Royal Rumble match, Oba Femi went on to win the King of the Ring tournament, and retire Brock Lesnar, winning their series of matches 2-1.

With Femi having called out World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns following WrestleMania 42, it feels like an inevitability that the Nigerian star will soon challenge for the OTC’s gold.

With WWE clearly behind Femi as a main eventer, it’s only a matter of time until he holds the company’s top prize.
