SmackDown star Kofi Kingston has addressed his botched elimination escape spot at WWE Royal Rumble 2023.

Over the years Kingston has found some pretty innovative ways to avoid elimination in the Rumble.

Unfortunately for the New Day member, his plan to stay alive in this year’s match didn’t work out for him.

When Kingston was slapped off the apron by GUNTHER, he landed on a chair, but ended up crashing down anyway. Some took to social media to show concern for Kofi, who appeared to hit the announcers table during the scary spot.

This is the second year in a row that Kingston has failed to save himself, with the popular star’s feet accidentally touching the floor when he was clinging on to the barricade after getting pushed out of the ring by Kevin Owens.

Kingston has now taken to Twitter to indicate that he is done attempting these spots, writing:

Welp, 🤷🏾‍♀️ The universe has spoken…

RIP 🪦 ☠️

The Royal Rumble match was ultimately won by Cody Rhodes, who eliminated GUNTHER in the final moments of the bout to punch his ticket to WrestleMania 39.
