Mercedes Mone Names Former WWE Star She’d Love To Face

Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) made her return to wrestling over the weekend.

Mercedes faced off with KAIRI at the NJPW Battle in the Valley show for the IWGP Women’s Championship.

Mercedes won the match to become the second-ever IWGP Women’s Champion, setting her up for plenty of dream matches in the future.

Mercedes spoke with TVInsider, where she spoke about people she would like to wrestle, specifically naming Mickie James as someone she’d love to face off with.

She said:

“The thing is I’m a free agent. It doesn’t matter with New Japan. I can go anywhere. I can go to New Japan, IMPACT, Mexico, Germany, Europe. The potential matchups are endless.

“The same for New Japan. I know they have partnerships with CMLL, IMPACT, AEW. To be a fan and watch all these matchups from all parts of the world is amazing.

“I know there is a little woman in IMPACT I would love to face one day, Mickie James! We’ll see what is in the stars.”

Stardom’s High Speed Champion AZM was set up as Mercedes’ first challenger for the IWGP Women’s Championship earlier today.

Several WWE stars were in attendance at the NJPW Battle in the Valley show in support of Mercedes’ return to the ring.
