As well as Chelsea Green, another former NXT star was backstage for the recent Ring of Honor Best in the World pay-per-view.
During the July 11 show, Chelsea Green appeared for the company, after requesting to forgo her WWE non-compete clause. Green was reportedly not the only former WWE talent in the building for the show.
POST Wrestling are reporting that Chris Hero was backstage for Best in the World. When ROH COO Joe Koff was asked about Hero, Koff reportedly said:
“Chris was there and is always home at Ring of Honor.”
Hero first wrestled for ROH in 2005 as part of a CZW invasion story. His last match for the promotion was in 2014 against AJ Styles.
He first signed with WWE developmental in 2012 before leaving the company the next year. Following his return to the The Gold Brand in 2016, Hero competed for both NXT and NXT UK before his departure in 2020.
Hero last wrestled in a battle royal on NXT UK in March 2020, which was ultimately won by Ilja Dragunov. The Russian star is currently preparing for his second shot at WALTER’s NXT UK Championship.
