NXT Stars Compete In Dark Matches Before July 30 SmackDown

It has been reported that a number of NXT talents were in action during dark segments before the July 30 episode of SmackDown.

Before last night’s show, PWInsider reported that several Gold Brand performers were backstage at the Target Center in Minneapolis for SmackDown.

It has since been revealed that Aliyah, Odyssey Jones, Austin Theory and Indi Hartwell all competed in dark matches ahead of the main show.

Aliyah pinned Indi Hartwell their pre-show singles match. It was previously reported that Aliyah was “traded” to Raw in exchange for Mandy Rose returning to NXT.

Odyssey Jones defeated Austin Theory in their dark match. Jones is currently a competitor in the NXT Breakout Tournament, advancing to the second round earlier this month.

Theory had a run on the WWE main roster last year, challenging for the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 36 alongside Angel Garza.

These four names have been backstage for several main roster shows recently, so seem likely to be on the verge of being called up.
