A top AEW star has recalled being told the “book was closed” from the WWE medical staff.
At AEW Full Gear 2022, Saraya made her in-ring return after five years away from wrestling to defeat Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, the former Paige documented her journey to being cleared to compete. On her feeling that WWE medical was being a bit unfair, Saraya said:
“WWE, I asked to see my neck a few times and the medical said that the book was closed on that and that they weren’t gonna keep checking on it which was really disappointing so if I wanted to check on my neck, it would have to come out of my own pocket.”
“Her name was Stacy (DePolo). That was her who said that by the way so it wasn’t anything to do with Hunter or anything. It was just that medical department which I thought was a little unfair but it’s okay.”
Saraya is currently a member of The Outcasts stable alongside Ruby Soho and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm.
Elsewhere in the interview, the AEW star spoke about wanting a championship match at the upcoming AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium in London, England, which you can read here.
