There are a lot of big changes coming to the NXT brand in the coming weeks, as announced at the end of this week’s NXT 2.0 show, when the new NXT ‘Black and Gold’ logo was revealed.
On top of that, Triple H is reportedly set to bring back the ‘Takeover’ name for NXT’s premium live event specials, with the next special show for the NXT brand set to be NXT Takeover: Halloween Havoc on October 22.
WWE taped two episodes of NXT 2.0 last night, which many are expecting to be the final ‘2.0’ branded episodes of the show before the rebranding comes into effect after that. However, that doesn’t mean the shows were not noteworthy.
The main event for Halloween Havoc was officially announced on the show taped for September 27, and it features some major spoilers from the tapings, so turn away now if you don’t want to be spoiled.
On the show taped for September 20, JD McDonagh defeated Tyler Bate in the previously announced main event, earning him a shot at the NXT Championship. Bron Breakker came to the ring to confront McDonagh, before Ilja Dragunov made his return to NXT and joined for a three-way face off.
On the September 27 show, Breakker officially challenged both to a three-way match in the main event of NXT Takeover: Halloween Havoc.
