No one could have foreseen just how big of an impact the COVID-19 pandemic was going to have. One of the people to be affected negatively by this was NXT star Rhea Ripley.
During the NXT TakeOver WarGames media call, Triple H was asked about Ripley suffering a setback this year. In short, he said that the pandemic caused the plans for Ripley to change after WrestleMania.
Triple H applauds Rhea Ripley for being candid about her confidence issues. Says sometimes setbacks can later be looked at as learning devices.
It did not go where it was supposed to, and won't, but he thinks there are a lot of valuable lessons in it to improve.

“Triple H is asked about the ‘plan’ he talked about coming to fruition with Charlotte and Rhea Ripley. He says what happened was not the plan and the world completely changed the course of things”
Ripley has been open about losing her confidence after WrestleMania this year. She was almost immediately dropped down the card in NXT and never got her win back from Charlotte Flair. According to Triple H, this was not the plan initially but the pandemic changed that.
He did not elaborate on what the original plan for Rhea Ripley was. Ripley is currently set to compete as part of Team Shotzi at NXT TakeOver WarGames against Candice LeRae’s team. This will be her second WarGames match.
