While he didn’t wrestle on the show, The Undertaker returned the night after WrestleMania 35 last year to attack Elias on Monday Night Raw. The segment didn’t really go anywhere after that.
Many predicted that Elias would face ‘Taker at the next Saudi Arabia show, but “The Deadman” instead went one-on-one with Goldberg in a disaster of a match.
Well it seems like us fans were right, as Elias has revealed that he was set to go one-on-one with The Undertaker at in Saudi Arabia last year, presumably at Super ShowDown.
This means that we very nearly didn’t get to see the frankly abysmal match between Goldberg and The Undertaker that main evented the show.
Taking to Instagram, Elias has opened up about being set to face The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia.

Here’s what Elias had to say on the matter:
“Elias v Undertaker was set to happen in Saudi shortly after this segment. Everything about this night was electric. THINGS CHANGED. Myself and The Deadman have crossed paths multiple times since I’ve been here, and I hope it’s not the last. There is a great story to be told both on screen & behind the curtain. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. Check out @Undertaker: The Last Ride on the @WWE network to learn more about the man behind The Undertaker.”
The events of the match were covered in Chapter Four of the fantastic Undertaker documentary. If you haven’t caught any of the episodes yet, I strongly advise you to do so, it is excellent viewing.
