Here’s a new update on plans for the upcoming AEW Women’s tag team tournament called the “Deadly Draw” which is set for this summer.
The tournament will feature 16 women in eight teams, but there’s no actual fixed date set for when it’s going to start.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, providing that TV ratings don’t drop during the time it’s on TV, plans are for this to become an annual event. If it ends up only being a one-off, this would be a business decision and is not the plan right now.
There’s no word on who the teams will be, with Brandi Rhodes & Allie, the Nightmare Sisters, being the only active female duo.
The promo video for the tournament features Penelope Ford, Nyla Rose, Diamante, Big Swole and Anna Jay, so it would seem they’re going to be included.
