With a new year, reportedly so too comes a unique match type as announced by WWE.
Taking to Twitter to share a video package in anticipation of the match, WWE announced that a special branded match is coming soon.
According to WWE, the Royal Rumble will host not only the titular matches but also the debut of the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match.
Per the advert for the match, when it’s the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match, anything can happen!
In a sponsored match partnership that will sure to be touted on future earnings calls, the bout would seem a logical fit for the returning Bray Wyatt.
However will Royal Rumble be the culmination of the Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy mysteries in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black match or… simply kick off another chapter?
Or honestly, involve anyone or anything else as no additional match details were noted at time of writing.
Fans of Mountain Dew lore may already be aware that Mountain Dew Pitch Black was originally a limited edition Halloween flavor in 2004 which was recently announced to making a return to shelves in January 2023.
