An update has emerged on Wes Lee’s injury status and recovery following his NXT return at Tuesday’s (April 30).
The former NXT North American Champion made his return to NXT TV during this week’s Spring Breakin’ special, confronting the current titleholder Oba Femi.
Following recent uncertainty surrounding Wes Lee’s in-ring status, Fightful Select now reports that Lee has been cleared to compete.
The report noted that at one point it was thought that Lee would be out of action for at least a year, with retirement being a “real possibility”.
Lee hasn’t wrestled since winning a North American Title #1 contender’s fourway match on the November 28 episode of NXT.
Ahead of NXT Deadline in December 2023, Lee announced that he had to drop out of his scheduled match with Dominik Mysterio due to a serious back injury.
Lee took to social media on April 20 to note that his mind was strong, but at that point there was uncertainty surrounding when “everything will be firing properly” with his body.
Oba Femi is the current NXT North American Champion, winning the title from Dragon Lee in January.
