WWE Star Reacts To ‘Frustrated’ Fan Reactions WWE

Baron Corbin has discussed the fan reaction during his match with Gable Steveson in the Olympic gold medalist’s debut match at NXT Great American Bash on July 30.

As well as being Steveson’s debut, the match was Corbin’s first with his own new entrance music and presentation after something of a rebranding in NXT.

During the match, fans cheered for Corbin and booed Steveson, with Corbin recently discussing that situation with Adrian Hernandez, saying:

“I think the audience, as much frustration that they have with me or whatever, they’re also frustrated because they wanna see me be successful.

“The fans get frustrated too and they want to say ‘he deserves shots, he deserves a championship’. That’s kind of translating with this character.

“I’ve seen it online, on TV. There is a true feeling behind it. I’ve been here for eight years on the main roster. I’ve done everything that’s been asked of me.

“There is a line, I don’t cross it. I’m not a squeaky wheel, I don’t complain. I’ve never complained on social media. I said it’s my time now. Let me do this as me.”

The match with Steveson went to a double countout. Three nights later on NXT TV, Corbin scored a win over Andre Chase.

Kurt Angle, whose farewell match was a loss to Corbin at WrestleMania 35, has reflected on how he has been used since that match.

The WWE Hall of Famer has also expressed his opinion that WWE should “push (Corbin) a little harder and he’d be in a much better place if they did that.”
