Top WWE Star Hasn’t Re-Signed With The Company WWE

A top WWE star has still yet to re-sign with the company as his current contract is getting closer to coming to an end.

For months now, there’s been speculation about the future of Drew McIntyre and his deal with WWE ending soon.

McIntyre’s contract was initially set to expire at the end of this year, but due to WWE adding time onto it to account for time away due to injuries and any other absences, it now runs through April.

So while there’s plenty of time left, it’s always getting closer, and the two sides are reportedly still yet to have agreed on terms.

The keyword being “yet”, because, as noted, he’s still with the company through April regardless.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported:

“I do not believe he’s re-signed.

“His contract was to expire at the end of the year, but because of all the injury time accrued, it’s through April.

“It’s basically a numbers game. It’s not like he’s a guy who’s looking to leave, it’s just a numbers game. He wants a certain number and they did not offer that certain number.”

McIntyre has a big match coming up as he challenges Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Crown Jewel on November 4.

He’s also in the midst of a heel turn, plans for which were somewhat derailed when WWE released his temporary tag team partner Matt Riddle last month.

Both McIntyre and Rollins agreed on Raw that neither of them would ask Judgment Day to help them during their Crown Jewel match.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on McIntyre’s status.
