WWE Money In The Bank Winner To Cash In On Surprise Champion?

WWE Money In The Bank Winner To Cash In On Surprise Champion? WWE

NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes has challenged the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match winner to cash in on him and his NXT Title.

On Saturday (July 1), seven rising stars will compete in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

The winner will receive a contract which will entitle them to a title match, anytime, anywhere.

While the contract is traditionally cashed-in on world championships, Austin Theory did break this precedent last year when he unsuccessfully cashed in on Seth Rollins for a US Title bout.

Speaking on WWE The Bump, Carmelo Hayes stated that he wants the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match to use their contract to cash in on him.

The NXT Champion said:

“I invite anyone to come to ‘NXT’ and challenge me for my ‘NXT’ Championship. All those guys are phenomenal, talented guys.

“I’m accepting the challenge. I’m open to whoever. When I shoot I don’t miss, and if they want to come at me, take your best shot.”

While a Money in the Bank contract has never been used to challenge for an NXT title, Charlotte Flair used her Royal Rumble win to call out NXT Champion Rhea Ripley in 2020, so huge annual WWE title shots have been used to go after NXT gold in the past.

Carmelo Hayes made his WWE Raw in-ring debut on Monday’s show, losing to Finn Balor in singles action.

The next night on NXT, he defeated free agent Baron Corbin to retain his NXT Championship.

WWE is reportedly ‘very, very high’ on another NXT star rumored to be set for a main roster run, which you can read more about right here.

As of writing, Butch, Damian Priest, LA Knight, Logan Paul, Ricochet, Santos Escobar and Shinsuke Nakamura are set to compete in the upcoming ladder match.
