WWE has refuted a claim that The Rock’s ‘chronic lateness’ had an impact on night one of WWE WrestleMania 40.
An article by TheWrap was released today, which claimed that production for Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming movie ‘Red One’, due for release later this year, went over budget, citing Rock’s ‘chronic lateness and unprofessionalism’ as reasons for why.
During the article, TheWrap claimed that Rock was three hours late for his main event match at WrestleMania 40 earlier this month.
The article claimed:
“Earlier this month, he was three hours late arriving ahead of his main event match at WrestleMania 40, two insiders told TheWrap.”
However, WWE have now denied the claims made in the article, noting that not only was The Rock on time for the show, he was hours early to help with rehearsals.
WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Head of Communication Chris Legentil said:
“Dwayne was not only on time for WrestleMania, he was hours early to help with rehearsal — and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire run.”
