Former WWE Star Teases Return After Interpromotional Match Announcement

A former WWE star has teased a return to the company following the announcement of Shayna Baszler for an upcoming GCW show.

WWE Raw star Shayna Baszler will appear for independent promotion GCW during WrestleMania 40 week, with Baszler officially announced for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X on April 4.

This announcement has fuelled speculation about more interpromotional matches that could take place involving WWE.

Matt Cardona (fka WWE’s Zack Ryder) has seemingly hinted that he could be involved in an upcoming match, taking to Twitter to share a photo from after his GCW World Championship win in 2021.

Tagging both GCW and WWE, Ryder wrote:

Is it time? @GCWrestling_ @WWE

While Cardona enjoys teasing fans with the possibility of a WWE return, the popular star has previously admitted that he has unfinished business, and would listen if the company decided to give him a call.

Cardona’s wife Chelsea Green is currently signed to WWE.
