SmackDown Star Shares Apology After WWE Botch WWE

WWE commentator Wade Barrett has apologised to Finn Balor following a botched call on Friday Night SmackDown.

The 2024 WWE Draft commenced on this week’s (April 26) show, with the first draft picks of the year announced early on in the episode.

In a surprising move, SmackDown selected NXT’s Carmelo Hayes as a first round draft pick.

Following this announcement, Barrett touted Hayes as the first ever NXT star to be selected in the first round of a WWE Draft.

Barrett has now taken to Twitter to respond to a post noting that he forgot about Finn Balor.

Sharing some love for the Judgment Day member, Barrett said:

Can’t win ‘em all, especially when you’ve been kicked in the head as often as I have 🤕. My bad @FinnBalor ✌🏻

Balor was a first round draft pick in 2016, getting selected by Raw fifth overall, while he was still in NXT.

He was propelled straight into the main event scene, notably becoming the inaugural Universal Champion at that year’s SummerSlam event.

A spoiler has emerged on WWE crowning another first-ever champion, which you can read more about right here.
