WWE held it’s WrestleMania Backlash event last night (May 8), and a few eagle eyed fans noticed something slightly off about one of their video packages.
During the package hyping up the match between Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss, WWE cut to various shots of the crowd during the video, and one in particular stood out to some people.
WWE cut to a shot featuring ‘Brock Lesnar Guy’, the wrestling superfan who has been front row at many WWE events. However, this shot was not from SmackDown during the feud, but rather from a decade earlier, when John Cena returned as the Doctor of Thuganomics during his feud with The Rock in 2012.
This is not the only time this has happened, as a recent WWE Evil documentary episode cut to a shot from the Eddie Guerrero Tribute episode of Raw in 2005, when discussing Stephanie McMahon in 1999.
I don’t know what kind of a person notices this sort of thing, but it’s pretty funny.
During the Madcap Moss/Corbin video recap, WWE used crowd shots from 2012 from John Cena’s return as the Dr. of Thuganomics. They have been doing more of this lately. pic.twitter.com/Vg2vd4f3IQ
