Former WWE Champion Removed From Shows Due To Injury WWE

A former WWE Champion has reportedly been removed from some shows due to injury after working through it for several matches.

It emerged recently that Drew McIntyre had suffered a hyperextended elbow, believed to have happened during his WrestleMania match against Seth Rollins.

However, McIntyre has worked five matches since then including a four-way on the Raw after Mania and then four singles matches against Jey Uso on this month’s UK tour.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Daily Update, McIntyre will be “off house shows for now” due to the injury.

However, the plan is reportedly for him to continue appearing on TV.

McIntyre just signed a new contract with WWE as announced by The Rock on Instagram, believed to be three years long and for “big money”.

He appeared last week on Raw and had a confrontation with Sheamus, potentially setting up a match, although it’s unknown when that’ll take place considering McIntyre’s injury status.

He currently isn’t announced for a match at Backlash, which is set to take place in Lyon, France on Saturday, May 4.
