A WWE star has shared an update on her upcoming debut horror movie role, which was confirmed to be in production in June.
Last month Deadline reported that a new horror movie, titled Red Wedding was in production in Birmingham, Alabama, with Rory Culkin, Lauren LaVera starring, and the Saw franchise’s Josh Stolberg directing.
While not mentioned in Deadline’s report, WWE star Chelsea Green confirmed on social media that she was also involved in the project, which would mark her horror movie debut.
Speaking on Spotlight with Kat Siggers, Green confirmed that Red Wedding is now in post production, but it does not yet have a nailed on release date:
“We don’t know, we don’t know when it’s coming out. It’s post production right now.
“Josh Stolberg wrote the script and directed. He was part of so many amazing horror movies. He’s part of the Saw franchise. I worked alongside Rory Culkin and Lauren LaVera from Terrifier, as well as Dead Meat James, who’s big in the horror scene.”
Green would then open up about the role, describing it as a “huge learning experience,” as well as how she juggled filming, alongside her WWE responsibilities:
“It was my first horror movie, I feel like it was a huge, huge learning experience. I’ve never worked nights. I worked nights while trying to fly to SmackDown. I did double duty.
“It filled my cup like I’ve never felt before, because I had already kind of laid the groundwork with the Christmas movies and Blue Ridge. I felt a little more comfortable going into this, however, I still learned so much.
“So, I’m excited. I don’t know when it’s coming out, but I’ve seen little bits and pieces and once it does come out I’ve got so much to share with you guys. I took photos, I took videos, I made TikToks. There’s so much behind the scenes content, so I’m really excited.”

As Green mentioned, she is appearing as Shelby Hughes in TV cop drama Blue Ridge, with her previous acting credits including 2020 sci-fi thriller Parallel Minds and 2024’s A Bluegrass Christmas.
Elsewhere in her interview with Spotlight, Green admitted that some aspects of her work in wrestling have hurt her when it comes to transitioning into screen acting – click here for her full comments.
When it comes to WWE, Green has an exciting opportunity ahead of her at next week’s SummerSlam 2026 premium live event, as she will compete in a five-way Ladder Match to determine the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
Green’s successful qualifying match for the opportunity can be seen below.
