Following Monday Night Raw, WWE has issued a statement on their website and on social media confirming that Ivar of The Viking Raiders was taken to the hospital following his match on last night’s show.
WWE.com posted the following update on Ivar after last night’s show, confirming that the former Raw Tag Team Champion had been taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after the show last night:
During the Eight-Man Tag Team Match on Monday Night Raw, Ivar suffered a cervical injury on a Viking Dive to the floor. As a precaution, Ivar was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
During the match, Ivar takes a dive to the outside of the ring, and you can visibly see him throw up the ‘X’ sign to alert the back that he is hurt, so it doesn’t look like this is a storyline injury, unfortunately.
However, it seems like Ivar was only taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, likely because the injury he suffered was linked to his neck. Thankfully, it seems like he is going to make a full recovery.
Everyone here at WrestleTalk wishes Ivar the best and hopes to see him back in a WWE ring with Erik again before too long. For the latest updates on Ivar’s status, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
