WWE Star To Be Pushed As ‘Top Star’ On Raw

A WWE star is reportedly set to become a ‘staple’ of Raw on the USA Network after being moved to the red brand in the recent WWE Draft.

Elias had been out of action since May due to injury until he returned on the October 12 Raw to attack Jeff Hardy. He now has a match on Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view against Hardy himself.

As per a report from Inside The Ropes, WWE has plans for Elias to become a staple of the show and to present him as a top star in prominent positions in and out of the ring going forward.

It was pretty clear on Monday that WWE is still bought into Elias despite his injury layoff, giving him top production and a fair chunk of time for his concert performance to promote his new album which releases October 26.

The report notes that the reason Elias was switched to Raw was to do with the fact it’s a three-hour show, which presents more of an opportunity for musical performances and promos than he previously would have had on the two-hour SmackDown.

He’s already viewed as someone who the company can plug into any situation and make it work, with management certain he’ll be able to deliver whatever they want from him.

It’s no secret that WWE has viewed Elias as a big star in the past. We know that he was planned for an Intercontinental Title reign in 2018, a match with Undertaker in Saudi Arabia in 2019, and a match with John Cena at WrestleMania in 2020, none of which ended up happening.

Being put straight into a program and pay-per-view match with Jeff Hardy should be a sign that Elias is on his way to the top of the card.
