WWE revealed this afternoon that former Raw and Smackdown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss had been pulled from the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match just four days before the pay-per-view because of an undisclosed injury. The statement revealed that a “suitable replacement” for Bliss, who it has now been reported is dealing with yet another concussion, would be found.
Mere hours later as part of WWE Now, Cathy Kelley revealed that Bliss’ replacement would be none other than former SAnitY member and NXT star, Nikki Cross.

This is a move that makes sense, as Nikki Cross formed an alliance of sorts with Bliss on this Monday’s episode of Raw. She took Alexa’s place in the fatal-four-way match and walked away with the victory, her first on the main roster since her debut on January, 14.
The fact that the friendship was formed between the two makes it seem as if WWE were fully aware of Bliss’ injury issues, and knew in advance that she would have to be pulled for the match. Late last week WWE even teased a change in character for the Scotswoman, and less crazed version of her character was seen on Monday night.
Whilst is it is nice to see the talented performed showcased at one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, fans can’t help but be a little disappointed that Cross was chosen as a replacement instead of Sasha Banks.
It was reported that the former Raw Women’s Champion tried to quit WWE over WrestleMania weekend, but company officials were still hopeful that the two parties could work things out, allowing Banks to make her return at Money In The Bank. However, it appears no deal has been reached, and Cross is the woman the company have gone with.
