This year’s SummerSlam was full of brilliance and just very few missteps.
Impactful in-ring action combined with memorable moments to make this years biggest party of the summer one to look back on with a smile.
But what were the most incredible moments of last night? Let’s check them out.
5. Buddy Murphy Shows Up
The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is a rare guest in front of WWE cameras these days. His match with Apollo Crews was announced only one hour before the kick-off show started.
WWE’s best kept secret entered to new entrance theme music and put on a great performance before Rowan appeared and attacked the Australian for mentioning his name as part of the on-going story around the attacker of Roman Reigns.
4. Edge Returns!?
In 2011 multi-time World Champion Edge was forced to retire due to a severe neck-injury. So serious that he could be paralysed if takes a bad bump.
Since then Edge has never got physical again in a WWE ring. Until last night, were he shockingly appeared in the SummerSlam kick-off show and speared Elias into the mat.
What does that mean? Is Edge actually cleared for competition? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
3. Goldberg Destroys Dolph Ziggler – Three Times
In his quest to writing the wrongs of this year’s Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia, Goldberg collided with Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
Of course, Goldberg made quick work of the Show-Off, but Ziggler kept asking for more and more after the match.
Goldberg coming back to hit one spectacular spear after another, was a true highlight of the night.
2. Seth Rollins Slays The Beast
No shenanigans, no doubts. Last night Seth Rollins made sure that no one questioned him as the legitimate champion.
The Architect gave everything and more to take down the seemingly unbeatable Brock Lesnar. Brock never looked so vulnerable.
Now we can all move on to a new era of Universal Champions, hopefully without Brock Lesnar holding the title hostage.
1. The Fiend Arrives
YOWIE WOWIE! After over a year of not competing inside a WWE ring, Bray Wyatt is now back.
His new character, The Fiend, shocked the entire wrestling world to its core. In a short affair with Finn Balor, Wyatt showed what a fantastic wrestler he truly is.
From entrance to exit, Wyatt completely re-invented himself and might be the highlight of WWE TV going forward.
