Last night after a large portion of the main roster was left stranded in Saudi Arabia, WWE decided to book an NXT invasion of Friday Night Smackdown.
The show was set to have had a huge influence from NXT boss Triple H, but was still run by his father-in-law Vince McMahon.
During the show, Rhea Ripley and Tegan Knox squashed Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose after Bianca Belair laid out Carmella and Dana Brooke backstage.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Tegan Knox had undergone a slight name change. Up to this point in NXT and NXT UK, Tegan’s surname has been spelt ‘Nox’ rather than ‘Knox’.
However, WWE decided to use the spelling Knox on the graphic as Tegan and Rhea Ripley made their way down to the ring. However, many thought this was simply a botch.
Despite this, WWE used the “Knox” spelling in the headline for the highlights clip they uploaded to YouTube, suggesting this was, in fact, a change name rather than a botch.
There is no word on why WWE decided to change the Welsh superstar’s name, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
