It was previously announced Pete Dunne, Damian Preist, and Killian Dain would be facing off in a Triple Threat Match with the winner to face Adam Cole at WWE Survivor Series for the NXT Championship.
However, it was originally announced to take place on Wednesday on NXT. However, it has now been seemingly moved to NXT TakeOver: War Games on Saturday night per WWE.

It would seem this match was moved due to the fact that Triple H has issued an open invitation to Smackdown and Raw superstars for Wednesday night. It could also be because NXT War Games didn’t have a lot of matches previously announced for the show.
Careful what you wish for, @TripleH.

Either way, this match should be a good one between 3 great superstars. However, it would seem the smart money might be on Pete Dunne.
Dunne and Cole would make the most sense to appear on Survivor Series. Dunne and Cole are more polished and seem to have a higher upside.
If you are showcasing NXT Talent on a main roster pay-per-view, a Cole and Dunne match would/could bring in a lot of viewers to NXT on Wednesdays.
The other announced matches for NXT War Games are The Undisputed Era vs. Team Ciampa, Finn Balor vs. Matt Riddle, and Team Shayna vs. Team Ripley.
