Maff and Cobb are slated to challenge current champions Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham in the near future. Because of this, Cobb’s appearance on AEW comes as a bit of a surprise.
Cobb was announced by Chris Jericho. Jericho said he’s found a hitman to teach Jon Moxley a lesson.
He went on to say Cobb would take Moxley on a Tour of the Islands. next week. Cobb’s finisher is called Tour of The Islands.
Cobb will be wrestling Jon Moxley on an already stacked episode of AEW: Dynamite. Cody and Wardlow will be having their cage match. There is also an AEW Tag Title Opportunity Battle Royal.
Jeff Cobb appeared at the end of the show as part of the major attack on Jon Moxley. He delivered his finisher on Moxley and stood tall as part of The Inner Circle.
Cobb’s debut could mean the end of his time in ROH. Or, it could be the first sign of Marty Scurll’s ROH role paying off.
Could this be the first crack in the door blowing open for a talent exchange? Either way, Jeff Cobb is fantastic and will be a huge addition to AEW.
