AEW president and CEO Tony Khan revealed after Double Or Nothing that an upcoming event was originally set to take place in London, England.
Fyter Fest 2020 was originally scheduled for England’s capital, but that of course can’t happen now because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Khan said:
“Originally, Fyter Fest, I was going to do it in London. We can’t do it, it’s just not possible. We had the plans and I thought it was going to be our debut and now I’m telling the world ‘I’m sorry.’ I’m not sure when (we’ll debut in England) but it was gonna be Fyter Fest. We would have had this great show.”
He did add that he will make sure AEW heads to the UK when it’s safe to do so. Earlier this year Cody had said there would 100% be a show in the UK this year, but that was before all the madness struck.
AEW held its inaugural Fyter Fest event in Daytona Beach, Florida on June 29 last year in conjunction with Community Effort Orlando. Khan said that there’ll be more details for this year’s edition announced on Dynamite this Wednesday.
